Terms of Participation
These terms apply to everyone who applies to the New Generation Leaders Summit ("the Summit"), buys a Direct Pass, or attends as a delegate. The Summit is an initiative of Better World Charity, an international non-profit organisation ("we", "us", "the organisers"). By submitting an application or buying a pass you accept these terms.
1. Eligibility
The Summit is designed for emerging and established leaders, primarily between the ages of 18 and 35. Applicants for funded places must be at least 18 years old on the first day of the Summit. Direct Pass holders and mentors of any adult age are welcome. Applicants under 18 may attend only with the written consent of a parent or guardian, and must be accompanied by a registered adult.
2. How places are awarded
There are two ways to attend.
- By application. You complete the application form and pay a non-refundable application fee. A selection committee reviews every complete application on merit and awards Fully Funded, Partially Funded and Self-Funded places. The committee's decisions are final and we do not give individual feedback on applications.
- Direct Pass. You complete a shorter registration form and pay the conference fee in full. Your seat is confirmed on payment, without selection, while Direct Pass seats remain.
We may decline or cancel any application or registration that contains false or misleading information, and in that case no fee is refunded.
3. What each package covers
What is and is not included in each package is listed on the Summit page at the time you apply, and is confirmed in your offer email. Unless your package states otherwise, you are responsible for your own international travel, visa fees, travel insurance and personal expenses.
4. Fees and payment
All fees are charged in US dollars through Stripe, our payment provider. We never see or store your card details. The fees, and the circumstances in which they can be refunded, are set out in our Fees and Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.
An offer of a Self-Funded place is held for 14 days. If the conference fee is not paid within that time, we may offer the seat to someone else.
5. Visas, passports and travel
You are responsible for holding a passport valid for at least six months beyond your date of arrival, and for obtaining any visa or entry permission you need. Once your place is confirmed we will issue an official invitation letter to support your visa application. An invitation letter does not guarantee that a visa will be granted; that decision rests with the immigration authorities alone.
We strongly recommend that every delegate buys travel and medical insurance covering the full length of their trip.
6. Conduct
All delegates agree to follow our Delegate Code of Conduct from arrival to departure, including at social events and on shared transport. We may remove from the Summit, without refund, anyone who breaches it.
7. Photography and media
The Summit is photographed and filmed. By attending you agree that images and recordings in which you appear may be used by us and our partners to report on and promote the Summit and future editions. If you would rather not be photographed, tell the registration desk on arrival and you will be given a lanyard that photographers will respect.
8. Changes to the programme
We may change speakers, sessions, venues or timings where necessary. If we have to postpone or cancel the Summit for reasons within our control, you will be offered a full refund of any conference fee, or a transfer of your place to the rescheduled dates. We are not responsible for flights, visas or other costs you have arranged yourself, which is another reason to buy insurance.
9. Liability
Delegates attend at their own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law we are not liable for loss of or damage to personal belongings, or for any indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
10. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent through our contact form. Please quote your application reference if you have one.
