Delegates standing in a line holding the national flags of their countries

The New Generation Leaders Summit brings together young people who are already changing their communities, and gives them the peers, mentors and skills to change much more.

Why the summit exists

The challenges the world has set itself in the Sustainable Development Goals, from ending poverty to acting on climate, will be met or missed by the generation now in its twenties and thirties. Yet the young people doing the most important work are often the least connected: a youth worker in Lagos, a climate organiser in Lahore and a social entrepreneur in Lima are solving related problems without ever meeting.

The summit exists to put them in the same room. For three days, delegates learn from leaders who have done it before, learn even more from one another, and leave with a network that keeps working long after the closing ceremony.

Our approach

  • Talent first. Funded places are selected through a competitive application process, so that talent, not money, decides who is in the room.
  • Learning by doing. Every delegate works in an international team on a real challenge linked to a Global Goal, and presents the result.
  • Culture as a classroom. Delegates share their own traditions and experience the host city's, because leading across borders starts with understanding them.
  • Commitments, not just conversations. Each edition closes with a declaration of commitments that delegates carry home.

Our story so far

The first summit was held in Dubai in January 2025, bringing together young leaders from across Africa, Asia and beyond around the theme Reimagining Leadership for a Sustainable Future. The second edition takes place in Bangkok, Thailand, from 23 to 25 February 2027, for 100 delegates.

An initiative of Better World Charity

The New Generation Leaders Summit is organised by Better World Charity, an international non-profit organisation whose motto is Hope for Humanity. Better World Charity strives to restore the dignity of the marginalised, and sees young leaders as the people best placed to make that happen in their own communities.
