Delegate Code of Conduct
The New Generation Leaders Summit brings together young leaders from many countries, faiths, cultures and backgrounds. What makes the Summit work is that every person in the room is treated with dignity. This code applies to delegates, speakers, partners, volunteers and staff, at every Summit session and social event, online and offline.
We expect everyone to
- Treat others with respect and courtesy, especially when you disagree.
- Listen to understand. Give others space to speak, including those whose first language is not English.
- Respect the laws, customs and culture of the host country.
- Arrive on time for sessions, and wear your delegate badge throughout the programme.
- Ask before photographing or recording another person, and respect their answer.
- Look after one another, and tell a member of staff if you see someone in difficulty.
We do not tolerate
- Harassment, intimidation or discrimination of any kind, including on the basis of gender, race, nationality, religion, disability, age or sexual orientation.
- Unwelcome physical contact or sexual attention.
- Possession or use of illegal drugs, or drunkenness that disrupts the programme.
- Using the Summit to sell products, recruit for unrelated schemes, or raise money without our written permission.
- Misrepresenting yourself, your organisation or your relationship with the Summit, including using your invitation letter for any purpose other than attending.
If something goes wrong
Speak to any member of the Summit team, who will be identifiable by their staff badges, or write to us through the contact form. Reports are handled in confidence. We may warn, remove from the Summit without refund, or bar from future editions anyone who breaches this code, and we will involve local authorities where the law requires it.
